Ah I didn’t read it like that at all. Going by the funny picture I took it as an excuse for a certain type of person who relishes taking their turn at the “oppression olympics.” I don’t really think we need to guess who this hypothetical asshole is educating about Irish oppression (which is real and who documented).
What exactly do you think this post is about?
A joke around the stereotype of white people playing at oppression like it’s something to be proud of rather than an ugly wound that has never healed.
It’s making fun of white people for talking about the treatment of the Irish during the St. Patrick’s Day holiday.
If it was about white people saying it during black history month, this would be a different conversation.

Yeah cuz you are ignorant and only your struggles are worthy and valid.
Do you feel oppressed?
??
None of these are my struggles, except insofar as they happen to people. I might be ignorant but I’m not uncaring.
Oppressed by your disregard for reality because it is not compatible with your generic corporate capitalism education.
Do you think you’re making sense?
Uh huh? You haven’t even asked me my perspective, but by all means tell me what I believe.
I have had a “generic corporate capitalism education” like most people online. Did you not? How did you get woke to the gaps in your education?
