Yeah, I recently had this argument. Temporal Investigations does not delete timelines, they just prevent critical harm to the “Prime” timeline. Anything less than that and they just leave it alone.
The TVA would never allow hundreds of thousands of alternate Enterprises to simply return to their timelines.
They’re no fun. Temporal Investigations, however, is cool with Sisko shaking Kirk’s hand.
And literally being Gabriel Bell.

So the big question here is, what happens if DTI determined you made too many changes to the timeline?
Slowly and calmly back away, ensuring the Janeway that there’s nothing to worry about.
They find and erase you from the timeline.
