Just to the end of season 3 when this happens:
I can’t believe they made him “phase in” his signature look. I remember for a bit he had the goatee and the hair.
The bald-head goatee is Brooks’s signature look, but it had been long associated with his Hawk character from Spenser: For Hire. They just kinda wanted to establish Sisko first and then were perfectly fine with him moving back to his preferred cut.
Oh, gotcha. I had heard that it was because the network executives were worried he would appear too aggressive for a starfleet officer or something like that.
The only other time i had such a heart pounding rush seeing a character power up, was as a teen watching Son Goku go Super Saiyan for the first time.
Fucking Hawk was suddenly back. On DS9.

Haha, I was just poking fun. Season 1 has some real bangers like ‘Duet’.
I really didn’t like the first few episodes, but DS9 is hands down my fav ST. They really get you invested in the characters. One of the only ST series to make me cry.
It takes about 2 seasons to get going but once it does, it’s an absolute wild ride.
