Good morning, fellow sobernauts, IWNDWYT, 😁!
We may be anonymous strangers on the internet, but we have one thing in common. We may be a world apart, but we’re here together!
Welcome to the 24 hour pledge! I’m pledging myself to not drinking today, and invite you to do the same. Maybe you’re new to c/stop drinking and have a hard time deciding what to do next. Maybe you’re like me and feel you need a daily commitment or maybe you’ve been sober for a long time and want to inspire others.
It doesn’t matter if you’re still hung over from a three day bender or been sober for years, if you just woke up or have already completed a sober day. For the next 24 hours, let’s not drink alcohol!
I will not drink with you today!
I found this story inspiring. The link to the article does not appear to be paywalled at time of posting.

It starts: “This week I vowed to raise a glass of anything but alcohol to celebrate my one-year anniversary of giving up drinking. In late January 2025, I decided to stop, and apart from a tiny amount of heavily-diluted communion wine I’ve kept to my word. …”
IWNDWYT … almost a solid 2 months now. Stumbled across this late last year and after a number of false starts have managed to settle into a groove. It is pleasant to wake up in the morning and not feel “fuzzy” or worse from the night before. Still have an urge to drink to decompress from time to time so trying to figure out how to address that through other means. That, even more than social, seems like my slippery slope. Suggestions would be welcomed.
