    This might be one of the best and subtlest Onion headlines I’ve seen in a while. It’s not their fault they have to compete with the crazy real headlines going on recently though

    If they are allowed to turn it off, and there are no repercussions for missing or withheld footage of moments civilians claim abuse, bodycams only serve as a framing weapon against the populace.

      They technically are recording 24/7. The record function just snips particular parts of it to definitely be saved. The rest of it is accessible for some period of time to a higher authority. How long I dont know, but probably at least 2 weeks to a month. If someone makes a complaint within a reasonable time frame they can check footage whether or not the officer hit record
