Worth mentioning that a lot of people who get the two paychecks are also on SNAP.

You’re probably not two paychecks away from SNAP: You’re two paychecks away from a debt spiral that will put you on the street or in the ground.

Nonsensical reply, but since you obviously don’t understand, I’ll explain:

“Temporarily embarrassed non-millionaire” is a complete straw man. No one being labeled that way actually has the mindset of ‘I expect to be that wealthy one day, so I’m going to oppose this in my own future self-interest’. People just like to pretend they do because it makes it easier to dismiss their opposition when you characterize it as nothing more than foolish selfishness.

It’s intellectually equivalent to people who think ‘reptilians’ are controlling everything in the government. Yeah, that “explains so much”, too, because you can attribute anything to that. No evidence it’s actually the case, though.

Additionally, when someone says, for example:

squeezing more taxes out of the ultra-wealthy isn’t going to make any difference until we change how wasteful the spending of tax dollars is, we already take in enough taxes to do everything we want, look, our average government spending per person on healthcare is the highest in the world, yet our coverage and outcomes are outdone by several other countries, no excuse for that

people like you and someguy3, in my experience, just respond with an accusation of bootlicking, because it’s the intellectually-cowardly, easy response, compared to actually addressing the argument.

Oh wow, an actual reply, I’ll commend you for your honesty and kindness for once.

The issue that we, me & BarqsHasBite, witness of the 🇺🇲 zeitgeist is that their praxis for humanitarian issues stem from entirely selfish goals. Thus, the idiom “temporarily embarrassed millionaire/billionaires” comes from the 🇺🇲 Imperial Propaganda that has worked for 250~ years. Including the genocide of Native Americans that have never been reparated, slaves, racism, etc…

My personal challenge for 🇺🇲 sacrifice and actual praxis for humanitarian work has always been their unwillingness to demolish a singular deathcamp, seeing as they keep making more, for a whole generation.

It’s fine if you don’t want to attribute generalizations on folks, but macro perspectives from praxises can be observed, no? We don’t see much selfless praxises in 🇺🇲 done at scales, esp. necessary in its descent to Nazism.

Also stop giving your money to rich people. They have enough.
If you’re desperate to give it away give it to your poor friends or donate it to the ACLU or something.

Actually, I appreciated that you did not know since it doesn’t apply to you. That’s why I took the time to explain not only the abbreviation, but its purpose as well. Have a great day!

What assume they think about you at all? Americans talking to other Americans aren’t concerned with nonAmericans understanding them.

I don’t understand mentality of the post.

if you are two paychecks away from being a millionaire, then you’re definitely not remotely close to needing food subsidies.

If I’m two paychecks away from needing food subsidies, then two paychecks from now you are definitely not going to be anywhere close to a millionaire.

And if I am about to become a millionaire then obviously I’m going to defend the millionaire class. I’m about to be one of them.

This is about people who vote for Maga or AfD or whatever your local equivalent is.

Many people have the ideology that they too would become rich, if only there weren’t all those regulations like paying for food of people who can’t afford it (which again is not true, since they themselves only benefit from it) often citing stuff like bill gates (of course just not believing that he had more than enough venture capital even when called out)

In reality, opening a company is cheaper than ever, with very cheap options to prototype with 3d printing, handle costumer relations via the many payment processors, and provide it with the many Cloud it firms like hetzner.

So if they were living in the perfect world they believe in where things like monopolies didn’t exist, they would have no problem becoming a successful entrepreneur.

      But turbolibs be turbolibbing

The point is that nobody who earns a paycheck will ever be two paychecks away from owning a private jet - that’s the point. You will never become a millionaire as a member of the labor class. You could work your entire life and not achieve that.

But lots of people are two paychecks away from not being able to afford to feed themselves.
