  • For every story that the victim wouldn’t have wanted the death of their abuser, how many are there where the victim would sleep better knowing their victim isn’t the in the world anymore? Anecdotal doesn’t mean much on its own when it comes to policy.

    I agree it’s case by case. In the most severe cases, death penalty. There’s lots of gray area, like in anything else in life.

    Sure, but I’m assuming even if someone isn’t violent, they are participating in CSAM or whatever you call it now, so they are viewing and sharing exploited children, which further encourages the producers of that content to make more. I haven’t researched the entire thing but that seems to make sense. That’s why I said they should be punished for participating. If they’re literally going through life normally without any kind of action online or in real life, then sure good for them.

    edit: saw the second part of the comment, and yeah I don’t have an answer for that, but please share your source on stats that those behaviors would happen. Whatever policy we do should be driven by empirical data, not just vibes.
