  • That… doesn’t sound like actual therapy. That sounds like someone trying to make money off of people by slapping a Therapy sticker on weird, corporate community hours. In my province, Therapists are licensed and have to have a related degree to practice, it’s easier to do then becoming a psychologist, but you still have to go to school for it. You can’t just call yourself a therapist and start talking to people about their problems, or asking a fucking chatbot about peoples problems… that’s so awful and I’m sorry you experienced that.

  • We all know what AI is doing to the workforce

    Do we?

    Summary

While anxiety over the effects of AI on today’s labor market is widespread, our data suggests it remains largely speculative. The picture of AI’s impact on the labor market that emerges from our data is one that largely reflects stability, not major disruption at an economy-wide level. While generative AI looks likely to join the ranks of transformative, general purpose technologies, it is too soon to tell how disruptive the technology will be to jobs. The lack of widespread impacts at this early stage is not unlike the pace of change with previous periods of technological disruption. Preregistering areas where we would expect to see the impact and continuing to monitor monthly impacts will help us distinguish rumor from fact.

*The narrative that AI’s are causing job loss is a marketing strategy performed by the AI companies to boost their recognition through fear.

  • I think some of those people have simply lost trust in the establishment and likely for good reason. I’ve known some kids that were put in horrible juvenile detention centres which caused them life long trauma, not to mention all the survivors of the residential schools in Canada; in those instances I can totally understand. To them I suspect filling out a ballot would cause them physical pain so when someone tells them to vote all they feel is revulsion.

Outside of situations like that, I truly don’t know. Maybe a high degree of apathy and privilege?

  • Bulgur wheat and whatever veggies you have on hand + whatever spices you fancy.

Throw in 2 cups or so of the wheat, add your spices and the harder vegg (like carrots or mushrooms). Add water so it’s about 2/3 of the pot (you can add more if it’s not enough when cooking). Boil. Add softer vegg (like broccoli) after it’s reduced some if you want, or throw it in at the start if you don’t mind it falling apart. I usually add an egg once it’s cooked, but it’s not necessary; I just need the protein.

Sorry I don’t have anything more specific, I do all my cooking by feel.

AFAICT I can only get bulgur wheat at one bulk store in my city, none of the ‘big box’ stores carry it. You might also try smaller shops that cater to middle eastern communities.
