Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Do you feel your job is important and are you proud to do it?
4·7 days agoi agree with you and everyone else here. you are finding the wrong people in the wrong places.
that said… sorry, but ‘everyone’ isnt making 2-300k everywhere. you are causing your own bias somehow, somewhere in your selection process. there is no other rational explanation using, ya know, math.
Well… its for data driven anything…so in your case id prolly have a dash with all my services maybe I a list with ip/port and a red/green status… links to the admin piece of that service, etc… cert exp dates

Dogs@lemmy.world•Psychologists say the bond between a person and the dog that sleeps in their bed isn't comparable to human attachment. It's actually more stable...
81·16 days agoi think the important bit is the emotional reaction to those events. we all get a bit salty when the spouse steals the covers… but im not getting mad at the dog for cuddlin me off the bed
humans kinda suck

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•Those who strongly promote patriotism are not happy when it happens in other countries.
17·18 days agopatriotism is like an incredibly rich fudge. a little dab will do ya
for some reason conservatives lack any ability to self control… theyve essentially poisoned what sliver of goof patriotism stood for…
it will now, and forever be equivalent to ‘racist asshole’ in the united states. no takin that one back

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Is there such a thing as "megathreads" in the Fediverse? I'm asking because of current events, as many posts are repetitive and the discussion is therefore inconsistent.
21·22 days agoon mbin multiple link posts are displayed so i can pick which one across the verse has the most comment activity in which to partipate

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•In arr stack how to pick indexers?
8·22 days agosure but usenet access is stupidly cheap. i think im payin like 1$/month.
i spend more on stickers.

it kinda sounds like you failed to back them up and are attempting to restore them from a non-backup.
and yeah, pulling an integral, configured component and expecting it to just run fine seems kinda… psychotic.
