I was using Portaner for a while, then moved to Dockge (super light) and now I’m on Dockhand which is so far my favourite. Dockhand has auto-update, resource monitoring, schedule auto-prune, etc. Setting up notifications through ntfy was super easy. It’s well designed ui.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•If you are not in a tech field, what got you into self-hosting?English

I’m working in pharmaceutical production industry and I have started selfhosting few months ago.
I wanted to replace google photos with immich, cause my photo collection approached 200gb and I didn’t want to upgrade to 2tb version. My gf also had same problem
Bought second hand mini pc for 100€ to test to see how it goes and if I had decided to go back, i would have sold it.
Initially I was following FUTO guide, but quickly noticed it was too extensive and complex for my setup. I managed to set up immich with reverse proxy, did few mistakes here and there, but when it finally worked, I got hooked. I now have:
- local backups to external drive (borg-web-ui docker)
- ntfy. To send noticiation to my phone after backup had finished
- diun. To notify when docker update is available
- dockgee. docker management
- tailscale. Remote access
All of it comes gradually, I’m tinkering with home assistant vm now.

i like commies and Linux nerds. But jokes aside, the atmosphere here is much better — it feels like old internet, discussions more engaging and there’s greater respect for different opinions. I feel this place is more welcoming and engaging
cooler light is more popular in places where it gets hot: Middle East, South East Asia countries prefer using cooler tones because it gives feeling of freshness and cooleness

1·1 month agoim not sure, but maybe when you specify path, docker thinks theres two paths separated by :, also in linux to specify path you use forward slash /, so maybe puting in quote maarks would work, e.g.
"D:\Pictures":/pictures/and then looking for /pictures/ inside the containerYou shohld also try checking logs when adding external library on immich with
docker logs --follow immich_server

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•do you know any good non-english rap you’d recommend?
3·1 month agoLithuania has pretty active rap scene. Trap didn’t pick up much here. Here are my picks:
i broke the boat in the middle of the water and then quit the game for few months
I started selfhosting month ago. I’ve came across Borg Web Ui. Its borg, but wrapped in nice web ui. I managed to setup daily local backups to external drive without struggling in the CLI. Borg web ui provides more dumbed down documentation (which is good for me). I’ve also setup to send notification to my phone when the backup is successful. I used NTFY for that
Just any pot works, you dont need a machine.
I use spoonful of coconut oil or clarified butter, but coconut oil works better. Heat oil
put corn kernels, i put just to cover bottom of the pot, or a bit less.
Then you cover and shake.
Use fine salt and fine msg for seasoning. I like adding smoked paprika powder.

Some people’s have natural born desire to seek for conflicts wherever they go - on the internet or outside of it. These people feel right about anything, and constatly seek to prove everyone is inferior around them.
