I have always done self hosting. You don’t need the most new hardware. And if you enjoy it too it is a win win. For me I host over 60 services my self. For me and family and some friends.
Not necessarily. A bit of both I would say. My servers can run a few hours on the UPS but bellow a certain threshold it shuts my servers off safely. For most power outages that’s enough to keep things running.

I hope prusa still has that copy of the site…

Awesome thanks! I am personally experimenting with running stoat over I2P
Esphome is amazing with home assistant!. Build a climate control with it for my server room for example. Pure esphome sensors and relays on a single board.

Please dont do step 4. Devs will get heart attacks left and right if they see that piece of shit code.

If you do decide to look in to containers again and get stuck please make a post. We are glad to help out. A tip I can give you when asking for help. Tell the system you are using and how. Docker with compose files or portainer or something else etc. If using compose also add the yaml file you are using.

How come? What do you use to run them and what is it you have a hard time with?

About 62 deployments with 115 “pods”
We need some more info. What is the server? A dedicated hypervisor? Just a Linux box that Also runs a VM?. If so what software you use to run the VM and containers?
Like I use XCP-NG on one of my servers. It is a level 1 hypervisor which you can manage with a webui.
