Famously, Nvidia drivers contain hacks for lots of games. Nvidia takes the crappy games and writes work arounds into the drivers to make the games work.

A Boring Dystopia@lemmy.world•'Scowling Void of Pure Nothingness': Critics Destroy $75 Million Melania Trump Documentary | Common Dreams
5·18日前Yes, which is normal film industry stuff.
No, not at all. Most Americans aren’t being threatened by immigrants. There are a few places where the uber rich immigrants flock to, but people in Average America, Iowa aren’t competing with immigrants.
Immigrants create more jobs due to an increased need for services. Immigrants are a net positive to an area, and they can fill in skill gaps.
Capitalists can keep wages low by rigging the game via bribing politicians to reduce social programs. They don’t need immigrants to do that. They need immigrants as scapegoats. They need people to buy into their warped view of the world, and they need people to turn against each other, like you’re doing here.
Capitalists use sticks, live poverty, homelessness, and healthcare, to keep people inline and eating up their bullshit. Without the sticks, the capitalist have no power, and they know this.
How has immigration affected the average voter?
Tasty ethnic food. There are tasty tacos around, some good Pho, there was an Ethiopian place around here, and tabouli with BBQ.
The remaining Caribbean place around here is really disappointing and the pulled pork is dry, so there is that.

3·27日前The vim key bindings are a lot better.
KDE can probably do this with enough time and effort.
Zsh is but more for interactivity. The extended file globbing, extended auto completion, and loadable modules are the main reasons I like it. The features really shine when used with a configuration framework like ohmyzsh.
Supposedly, Zsh has a more comprehensive shell scripting syntax, but that’s not a plus since I don’t want to write shell scripts.

101·1か月前There are dumber ideas.
Invading Mexico or Columbia ranks higher. You know countries with people who have experience fighting guerrilla wars and have existing relationships with arms dealers.
Invading China probably takes top spot though. Don’t start land wars in Asia, especially with a peer state who has most of the world’s manufacturing capacity.

Naw. Getting the US involved in several different conflicts is a great way to sideline the US when it comes to Taiwan. It benefits China and Russia if the US is distracted, spread thin, and fighting with allies.
The silver lining is it out would cause the collapse of the US economy making it easier for other countries to fill the void.

The devs won’t optimize anything. Our problems are not their problems.
Optimization happens when people have time to sit down and reason about the code. A hardware crunch isn’t going to give people more time. The assembly line is going to run at the same pace regardless, and devs are going to churn out the same junk they always have.
It isn’t a lack of limited hardware holding them back. Old, junky hardware has existed since nearly the beginning of the information technology, so a hardware crunch isn’t going to affect anything.
