Picked up a preview edition last year and it just kind of sits there.
I really need to get it running for basic automation tasks but finding the time to research good tutorials seems to be eluding me.

You’ll get no argument from me on that. It’s definitely a case of the mask is fully off now.
We’ve moved on at this point. There’s no room in my life for hatred and facism.

A guy I grew up with playing music and working odd jobs for his dad is now a hardcore right wing influencer.
His family was very progressive (still are as far as I know) and we lived in a staunchly blue part of the country. Hell, we wrote songs that were hyper critical of the govt and authoritarian systems.
Now he’s screeching to a million plus followers and participating in counter protests as a pro-maga mouthpiece.
I am sure it has to be for money. He was always an egomaniac. Between that and the dopamine hit of a good grift, it has to be. I just can’t resolve in my own heart that he’s truly gone to the dark side.
In what world would Luda be at that shit show?
Please don’t tell me I missed him turning red hat.

I had the exact same response when I found out about them!
They are great gifts.

Have I got a thing for you! Culo Clean

Hey look, the name of the game and a direct link to its steam page.

I tried going back to it on pc recently and was met with a pretty janky experience. GoG and Steam versions. I ended up emulating the PS2 version with some upscaling and it was great. There’s community texture packs and widescreen patches as well if you have the hardware to run them (low bar fwiw, I had success with an anbernic android device and a few mods as an example).

Portal 2 was my first thought as well. It can also work as a good litmus test for how they will respond to FPS controls. You can try kb/m or controller and see what feels natural. My partner (we found playing left4dead after portal) is an inverted controller person. Which was wild to me considering they worked in a heavy clerical field and really took to building keyboard with me. Yet, no kb/m for gaming. After that switch , they were able to enjoy co-op 1st person stuff a lot easier.
After portal we played borderlands 2 together. It’s low pressure most of the time and can be a background activity while you talk and hang out. The story is kinda cheesy but it’s fun to share the inside jokes with someone and bonded us in an unexpected way.
Hopefully those work for you!
Edit: it takes two and split fiction are really fantastic coop experiences as well. But, it take two should probably have a small warning for emotional content. Split fiction is a ton of fun but does get kinda difficult for less seasoned players. I found it endearing helping through those sections, but it could be harder for others. There are some moments that we both audibly wowed at though! That made the difficulty worth it.

I can’t say for certain they are but I’m of the same generation as him and grew up around conservatives that considered that type of “America at any cost” media to be sacred texts.
When you scratch the surface on it, it’s all just thinly veiled jingoism in a glossy suit. Hence homeboys desire here to have a “cool guy” jacket with unearned valor on it.
It’s 100% about the optics at the photo op after the real work has been done by someone trained and qualified.

It’s moments like this where we can see how much copoganda really affected some people’s perspective on the world. I am willing to bet there is no small part of this person‘s reality that they don’t think is straight out of a Tom Clancy novel, and they are the forces of good and justice.
I guess being realistic with where we are now, straight out of an Amazon TV Tom Clancy series.
Personally they lost me at kernel level anticheat.
I had a passing interest but no OS / box id sacrifice for that garbage.
