I remember the mission from Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood where you get to use this thing, and the optional objective is to not get hit at all. what’s the point of getting to drive a tank if you’re not supposed to, y’know, tank

53·6 days agowhat pissed me off about Jedi fallen order was when they would put in an elevator to hide a loading screen, and then when you got to the end it would still stutter for a couple seconds to finish loading. don’t make the elevator a real fixed distance dumbass, just make it a looping animation that continues arbitrarily until the loading is completely done

18·19 days agothis is probably apocryphal, but I think I recall hearing about German officers complaining that they went to a lot of trouble to learn about the US army’s official operating procedures, and it didn’t do them any good cause the US never actually followed them
apparently Andrew Jackson was nicknamed Jackass, and ended up using the symbol spitefully on his campaign materials, and then cartoonists started using it as a shorthand for his party

Games@lemmy.world•Are achievements still relevant in 2026—especially when mods disable them?English
7·20 days agoI’d love to have them go away if only to stop people from leaving reviews that say “easy achievements, quick way to get 1000 gamerscore.” I can’t imagine the type of person who bases their motivation to play games on that
