politics @lemmy.world•Senator Mark Kelly says he will 'seriously consider' running for presidentEnglish
88·1 day agoHonestly, I’m just happy if theres an alternative to Newsome. Kelly isnt a progressive, but hes not a full blown corpo shill that the DNC would happily shove down our throats if unopposed.

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•Australians banned teens from using social media. Now, Australians are worried about teenagers going outside with e-bikesEnglish
5·11 days agoEvery teenager, edgelord and redditor (but I repeat myself) thinks this way. That being some kind of contrarian/devil’s advocate dipshit is some proof or evidence of their mighty intellect.
“Oh, but have you thought about this!!! It seems only I am so smart as to have such enlightened thoughts…”
Every teenager is the Gotcha-Man and they think they’re unique and novel.

I don’t understand wtf is going on with the RT score.

10% Critics, 99% Verified Audience
99 audience score? Surely, it’s bots, right?
So you look at “All Audience” and you see 1/5 pretty much the whole way down:

Then Verified Audience… and it’s 5/5 the whole way down?

These are (supposedly) verified ticket purchase reviews/accounts. Did they seriously just buy up a bunch of tickets just pay for high reviews?

Gaming@lemmy.world•Microtransactions, more like Epstein TaxesEnglish
4·17 days agoThe Horse Armor is definitely an early form of microtransations, but it’s not the first type. A lot of people think of it as the first “paid for dlc”, but that’s not quite right either. Because it didn’t really add any new content, it just altered existing content. It was the first kind of paid “mod” of game. But even that’s not quite accurate either. Because “Mods” include things that enhance gameplay, add/improve features, etc. What the horse armor really showed is that people would spend money for different “Skins”. Horse armor was the first paid for “skin”. Character skins, weapon skins, gun charms, etc etc.
But even given all that, the horse armor still isn’t the start of microtransactions in games.
Crystals/EnergyShards/Feathers/etcetcetc. The price wall/gatekeep bullshit meant to restrict play unless you paid. Those are the first real “microtranscations”. And for that you can thank casual games that predate the SmartPhone era. Like FarmVille.

25·17 days agoEhhhh, kinda a stretch. Microtransactions predate this 2013 letter. They weren’t as ubiquitous as now.
But like, Farmville existed in, like, the late 2000s…

68·26 days agoOh hello Jill Stein “voters”.
Running the same gambit again, huh? How’d that work out for ya?
His source is he made it up and “just trust me”.
hey, Hey, is this you?
Did you get kicked off of reddit and so you decided to make up your own little Lemmy instance to rule over? Is that what happened here?
If this isn’t you, it sounds EXACTLY like you. Food for thought. You write and sound exactly like this person… Take that information, do some self reflection, stop watching Rick and Morty, grow as a person.
blahblahblah, you’re committing acts of attentional violence on me. Can you remove yourself from this instance?
Causing straight up emotional and psychic damage to everyone around you through the sheer power of cringe… this is literally you… this is what everyone sees you as.
fr. Dude loves to hear themselves talk so much, they’re probably a narcissist too.
this mf quoted their own opinion article they wrote as though it was a source.
You wrote a “Made for Tumblr” revisionist deconstruction of a thousands of years old myth, published it on Medium, and then referenced as proof/source here…
Holyhell, that’s levels of up one’s own ass never seen before.

7·1 month agoI cut off my father after him defending the murder of George Floyd by reciting TimPool/Peterson talking points. And then he died last year. So, I guess he’d have to fix that first.
