Not that I’ve noticed. It’s a 1060 vs an old Intel integrated, so I’d hope I’d immediately notice a game running like sludge, although I’ve been staying away from truly demanding ones on it.

Use a distro that has automated install of the drivers. MX Linux was just running a provided program (that ran in a terminal but eh) and rebooting, and off I went gaming. I think some of the other gaming-specific distros can also install them for you.

For #2, I’d definitely say it depends on the type of spoiler. Merely giving away the general events isn’t going to ruin good media. Though if someone is basically in effect recreating the whole scene(s) lazily in a different medium, then that can ruin the ability to experience it in the same way.

I would liken it to how the Red Wedding in GoT was portrayed in its own media: As done in the earlier seasons, it was a crazy surprise of an experience. If it happened in season 8, it would’ve been a shitty, “here are the things that happened” kind of portrayal and it would’ve been kinda’ what ever.

That’s not even speaking to spoilers, but story telling in general. If they’re doing a shitty job of telling the story, spoiler context or no, then it’ll kinda’ ruin the story either way. Spoilers are themselves story telling. It’s not all black and white good or bad. It’s how it’s done and what is covered that makes it good or bad.

Though with spoilers, it’s far less likely that people are going to try to really do it justice, especially in a meta-context like talking about the show, so spoilers are more often given in poor form for story telling.

I think it greatly depends on the media and what the spoiler is.

If it’s a story where the big twist is the thing that makes it so great, or if the depth of the story is greatly amplified when you can get immersed before a big event occurs, then spoilers are purely an asshole thing to give without warning or permission.

Though if it’s just Disney slop where the whole damn thing is formulaic and rather predictable anyways, then what ever, spoil away.

Not just with their web hosting. I’ve had so many updates break random crap it’s not even funny. Recently, a random update I did not approve suddenly had kwallet not working. A core piece of a DE they provide a bundled version for. I had to start kwalletd myself every time I wanted to use it.

It didn’t start that way on the fresh install. I didn’t do anything myself except reboot. Then suddenly my scripts that nab from the keystore are failing and asking me for passwords and what a mess.

That’s just a more recent example. I remember having quite a few random issues on update in the past, though the only other one I explicitly remember is the DE suddenly failing to start. Like, at all. Luckily I had a recent timeshift backup saved elsewhere, restored, and ignored the update notifications for a long while…

What, you don’t like the main character immediately running into and immediately getting crushed on by a princess the moment her species shows up? Or being the main character to come up with a basic idea to appeal to them that a several hundred year old supposedly wise person couldn’t? Or that they run formal debates in the future like a dance-off? Or that they often talk like people from the 20th century instead of using more timless and intelligent phrasing?

Or that the show is written more like science-FICTION than SCIENCE-fiction while wearing Trek paint? … ok ok that one is generic and kinda’ applies to all new trek…

Nah, they’ll mostly reveal that they’re all visual phenominon explainable by physics and that even the classified US government is full of morons who want it to be true, even before Trump.
