I don’t practice a religion, and it’s not even my state. It’s just a refreshing take to hear, especially from Texas. Just heavily contrasts all the thinly veiled hate speech masquerading as religion.

Friendly reminder that James Talarico, a Democrat running in Texas, is just as religious, but actually represents the religion he practices, instead of using it as a shield to launch attacks from behind. Here’s the Colbert interview with him that his station’s lawyers said he couldn’t air on television.

The one blemish on my resume is a job I stayed at for a month. I was hired for one job but was told I had to start on a lower job just to get the swing of things. Fine enough. When I started in the position I was hired for, another person in the “entry” job confronted the supervisor about his promises to do the job I was hired for. On another occasion, the big boss (wasn’t a very large business. Most of the higher ups were family) comes in and says “Due to the high amount of samples, we need to work Saturday. I’ll start with volunteers” I took that as (and my coworkers verified) "If nobody volunteers, I’m going to start forcing. " I ended up leaving after one month, no notice. When I left, the supervisor told me he had hoped to put me in another position they were making. Nope. Didn’t work for me. I had left a note saying it was pretty messed up that the coworkers were lied to. Best thing I did. Went to another business for a year and left under more amicable circumstances. Now I’m happy in a job where I’ve been for the past 11 years.
The peak during Covid is interesting. Bored, unsupervised kids?

Here’s the interview that they weren’t allowed to air. The Streisand Effect is strong here.

Mask[s] a comprehensive worldview that undermines a parental authority over children’s moral development
What the fuck does that even mean? Teachers are undermining a parent’s authority to tell their kids to hate people because of the color of their skin or other differing things?

They wanted to launch Tory out the back, but it was deemed too dangerous. Clip of the soccer ball.

I mean, a small crack is detrimental to the whole. One today, maybe not another for a while, but a crack looks to be forming. Not a lot, but it’s something.

That would be acceptable, but I prefer slow, painful downfall of his empire, then an even slower, more painful death.

I’m not sure HLD is “underrated”. Looking at the rest of the studio’s catalog, I don’t think they managed to match HLD since.

History is written by the victors. I’m very curious to see how this period will be taught in schools for the next generations.

It’s not great, but in much the same way that small increments have made this regime, won’t small increments in the other direction work to bring us to a better place overall?
I love how this image is so universally known (and used lately) that the associated article doesn’t even need to be mentioned.

There was an exact list posted a day or two ago, but I’m having trouble finding it.
A lot of games have made things better with paid updates/expansions, but NMS really seems to be the only one where the free updates have fixed the game. Hell, there were jokes going around with the last big free update that people wanted to pay them more for all these free updates.
I spent a good 30 minutes trying to find the clip of Bruce Campbell telling Spidey that he wasn’t good enough for that, but I couldn’t. Would’ve been great.
Why am I not surprised to see Bobby Kotick in the files?
It definitely looks older. Much older. The dead animal on his head has more hair.
Last I heard it was after the Alex Pretti killing. He was beaten without ever drawing his legally obtained firearm he had in the small of his back. During the beating, ICE found the firearm, disarmed him, and then proceeded to execute him in the street. After the killing, a bunch of room temperature IQ Republicans said he shouldn’t have brought his legally obtained (gonna keep stressing that) firearm to a “peaceful protest.”
If there’s anything else along to their apparent effort of pulling back on the 2nd Amendment, well, I haven’t been informed.
