On the other hand, read Marx’s Capital and you will be like, “OK now I understand how politics and the economy work.”

The problem is that the system is functioning perfectly. It was always intended to help rich people carry out their will, and now that their will is to dismantle the US so that technofeudalism can reign, the system is enabling them to do that.

It is
voterslobbyists and corporate media that decide what is relevant, not the politicians.

I’m literally telling people to vote, but OK.

I mean sure, yes, go ahead and vote. It takes almost no energy and is literally the easiest political action one can take. But relying on voting has manifestly failed to prevent a fascist dictator from gaining power. And now that the dictator has power, do you really think elections are going to be fair? When was the last time in history a dictator got voted out of power?
I think you’re naively living in a world that doesn’t exist anymore.

Well, that’s not going to happen. We live in the world we live in, so maybe instead of wasting time wishing that we didn’t, we should focus on actions that can actually change the world, like organizing the working class to break free from the chains of the capitalist pedophile class.

Because the entire global ruling class is implicated, and Biden is a loyal capitalist whose material interests lie with protecting the status quo, even if that means allowing his fellow capitalists to rape children with impunity.
Big tech is liberal, it’s just that America has been propagandized into thinking liberal means left-wing, when really it has always meant right-wing.
Where did I tell people not to vote? I’m saying that if voting is the only political action you take, you are declining to have a significant impact on politics. Voting is the least effective political action you can take, but it’s still political action.
Relying on elections is how you give away all of your political power to the wealthy class. Both parties represent the rich, we need to be organizing grassroots networks that can take political power, not ask for it.

This isn’t a generational issue, this is all out class warfare.

Statistically, it was the communists that saved Germany. Soviet and Chinese efforts in WW2 dwarfed any other contributions.
Edit: If you’re downvoting me, did you forget that the USSR lost 25 million lives fighting the Nazis, while the US lost only 100,000?

The person you are replying to has obviously never suffered a real loss, and probably needs to go touch grass.
I sympathize with you. Sounds like you and your family are doing the best they can given an extremely shitty hand dealt to you.
ROFLMAO this guy literally just equated landlords with minorities. Oh won’t someone think of the poor landlords!
Wait, you guys have read Capital? 😂

So your argument is that nothing that China does is good because China bad? Not a lot of room for nuance in that worldview.

Agreed, the Iranian oil angle is a good analysis of a material reason for China to support Palestine.
When I say clout, I mean clout as a good actor on the world stage. China has to overcome decades of negative propaganda (some of which is based in truth, most is exaggerated or taken out of context, and some is outright fabricated). Actions like this promote China as an arbiter of peace and as a humane alternative to the naked barbarity of US/Western imperialism.
I don’t see why altruism can’t be a core motive for this move in addition to the strategic value. They are people, after all, who surely suffer as we do in the face of murdered Palestinian children.

How are you going to prevent billionaires from giving money under the table? Seems simpler to me to just not have billionaires.

Well yeah, every state action done by every country is for political/strategic reasons. I think their motives are clear: 1) Help Palestine achieve liberation through passive aid; and 2) increase China’s clout on the world stage.
Stop pretending like politicians are going to save us. 95% of them are complicit or are simply making too much money from the status quo to want to change things. We’re going to have to actually roll up our sleeves and organize ourselves if we want real change.
