I’m not sure I’d accuse her of being human at this point
Only pedophiles defend pedophiles.
And I fucking HATE pedophiles.
Woody Allen is still a pedophile who raped one of his own young step-daughters and married another.
People who defend that shit are SICK.

I’m not sure I’d accuse her of being human at this point

Pretty sure that more than anything else at this point, Lindsey is terrified of going to prison. And not just for J6.
Keep in mind that the files the representatives were allowed to see were still not unredacted, according to Jamie Raskin, who called them “slightly-less-redacted” in his statement about what he was allowed to see and the hoops he had to jump through to do so.
It’s still entirely possible that the gentleman from South Carolina is well represented in those pages.

If anyone else is curious, I looked up those files listed in the picture. It was interesting to see what Rep. Jayapal was going after. Multiple files are directly related to the structure of Epstein’s organization.

Note 1: The original file has been removed but was included in this later file; the first EFTA number, the one on Bondi’s list, is visible in the lower right.
Note 2: This was a mistake on Bondi’s hand-typed report, which lists the file as “EFTA211214” – I did a keyword search on Epstein victim list and the results all pointed to a particular email chain, of which the primary email was labeled EFTA00211240. This is the correct number, not the one on Bondi’s list.

I’m not describing that shit. Stop already with getting me to try. Blocking you now.
Four day old account, lol.
Other people, maybe. Ever since I read the Vanity Fair expose years ago I have never been able to look at an election tally again and not see the negative 16,000 votes for Gore in Volusia County.
It’s long af, but you’ll never read a better article on Bush v. Gore and all its related election fuckery in the US:
https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2004/10/florida-election-2000 (not paywalled)

But her maiden name is still valid and presumably matches the one on her birth certificate? There’s no legal requirement to change your name for either marriage or divorce, as far as I know, and latitude is wide in terms of hyphenation, etc. You may have more options than you know.
Also, the question of “fraud” only really matters when bills don’t get paid, and now for voting. If you have other evidence of your marriage (pics, invites, announcements, etc) from that time, you can easily prove that your intent was not fraudulent. I wouldn’t sweat that part of it too much yet.
But if I were in your shoes (and I’m not, so take it with a grain) my next step would be to get a free consult with a family attorney in your state, as they’re the lawyers that deal with name changes the most, and get the real picture of what’s actually legal and possible for you in the state where you live. You could also run the fraud question by him/her, if it’s still an issue.

Florida Bar, yes. But the funny thing is that the chief of police in Palm Beach, Michael Reiter, was a hero: he kept working on it even after higher ups were doing everything they could to shut him down, even going over his state and county to the feds. Without him and the handful of detectives who kept going regardless of the corruption they were faced with at every level, we would not now be aware of Jeffrey Epstein and the peculiar pastimes of his class.
The rest of them though? Hell yeah.

Yeah, it’s vague for a reason.
And that was just one single clip. There were hundreds linked just in that one Reddit thread; I clicked on a random one. Overall, there are thousands.
Not sure what you want me to say here, but if you’re a parent sentient human being think twice.

Those videos are horrible. I’m not exaggerating. But be forewarned.
I clicked on one, just one, and it took me days to get it out of my head, even though I saw nothing and the visual was almost entirely blackboxed. Just the understanding of what was happening and to whom did me in.
So be aware that if you do this without really knowing in advance what you’re clicking on, it may fuck you up for a while.
You have been warned.

Yes, exactly. This is her license in Florida, but honestly it’s harder to find a more corrupt bunch of attorneys in the US. They do take legal fuckery to the next level down there (as Epstein’s own multiple sweetheart deals proved).
You see her behavior here, yet she was AG of the state from 2011 to 2019. Look at her wiki and it’s clear she’s done whatever she wanted for quite some time, however questionable the ethics, and the FL Bar hasn’t disciplined her yet.
I’m sure there are some honest lawyers doing the best they can for their clients down there and I don’t want to denigrate them, but the higher up you go the more corrupt they are. Don’t hold your breath waiting for the elites of the FL Bar to smack her hand for being exactly like they are.

There’s a more complete article at The Guardian, if anyone’s interested.
So much of what Bondi said was a projection you could see from space, like when she told Jamie Raskin:
“You’re a washed-up loser lawyer. You’re not even a lawyer.”
I’m sorry, who’s a washed up loser lawyer that’s not even a lawyer? I looked up their law licenses. While Bondi is somehow still a member of the Florida bar, Raskin is retired from the bar in Massachusetts, inactive in DC, and active in good standing in Maryland,** and frankly his legal CV wipes the floor with her.
It’s like hearing a kindergartner trying to diss a professor of constitutional law . . . oh, wait, Raskin is that too.
But there’s more. When Pramila Jayapal asked Bondi to turn around and apologize to the victims who were standing right there, just a few feet behind her, she refused with this line:
“I’m not going to get in the gutter with this woman. She’s doing theatrics,” Bondi said.
I’m sorry, who’s doing theatrics? Could it be the one person who made a joke out of every question put to her, insisting that she not be accused of a crime, insisting that she not be told the rules of the hearing by the chairman of the committee, turning every serious question into an opportunity to slander the questioner with juvenile insults? Those theatrics? Hmmm.
At yet another point, Bondi seemed to forget that she herself was Florida AG from 2011-2019 and should have prosecuted Epstein long before NY did it for her, having had many years in which to do so herself:
Bondi tried to deflect blame away from the Trump administration by accusing Massie of not pressing previous administrations on Epstein. Epstein’s sex trafficking took place over decades.
Magic mirror, anyone?
** I can’t link to the specific entry in Maryland, but I linked the search tool. Look for Jamin Raskin.
Well spotted. It’s true. Some days I’m the cat, some days I’m the hairball.
As a cat owner, I look at that and start estimating how close the nearest paper towels are even though I already know it’s too late.

What a mensch. One tiny example from Vanity Fair (here’s the archive link):
While filming the movie [Varsity Blues] Van Der Beek said he asked his costar Jon Voight how he dealt with the constant attention and autograph seeking. “He said, ‘You have such a gift, and that is the gift of being able to make somebody very happy by doing something very simple. All you have to do is sign that paper, give them a little bit of time, look at them, talk to them, and you’ll make them happy. What a gift that is.’ And that made it click for me.”
Truly a good guy. Sorry to see him go.

All true, but the reflective “anti-paparazzi” scarves and such that I’ve seen do not appear to be reflective. They really just fuck up unwanted pictures/recordings by throwing off the camera’s light balance, especially when flash is used.

I’d agree with everything you said, except to point out that my own belief is that it’s funded here as well. When I engage with them, I not only find the usual hinky shit, but as they get frustrated their perfect English tends to slip, not into full error but into the kind of phrasing that non-English speakers, especially Eastern Europeans, tend to fall into.
Nothing against Eastern Europeans – in real life I personally know many Poles, Ukrainians, and even Russians, and they are generally the best, hardest working, coolest people you’d ever want to know – but it does beg the question of why the everlivin’ fuck a single bored Lemmy-reading Eastern European is running over a dozen alts to manipulate a post encouraging violence in the US, especially if the US is their adopted home.
Occam’s Razor suggests the answer lies in a never-stopped, never fully revealed Internet Research Agency, but again that’s just my personal opinion, lol.

You misunderstand; I’m not telling anything at all. I’m pointing.

Thanks. I reported it to the mods and to lemmy.world admin. I’m glad the mods took quick action here too.
But what I’m really hoping for is that the lemmy.world admins ALSO ban/delete the obvious alts. When I looked up these accounts, most but not all were eighteen days old, and they were all used in the same timeframe, in roughly the same order, to manipulate the vote histories.
All of this is in overt, specific violation of the lemmy.world TOS. I don’t know what further proof they’d need.
EDITED TO ADD list of just the lemmy.org alts used in this specific vote manipulation, all created eighteen days ago, from Lemvotes:

EDITED AGAIN to say a million thanks to the mods/admins that worked on this so quickly to ban the users and remove their content, and as far as I know still are. I see from the modlog you’ve been busy wiping them and their content, and I could not be more grateful. May your good come back to you, and I mean that sincerely.
It’s actually six million files in total.
From Rep. Raskin’s opening statement at Thursday’s hearing, directed toward Pam Bondi:
