I miss the thriving, active subreddits for fountain pens, watches, and calculators. I tried being the change I wanted to see in a watch community, but after about a week of being the only poster, It just kinda felt like I was just showing off my watch collection. Fountain pens is a bit more active, at a few posts per month. Forget about calculators.

960?? Wow. Aside from that being incredibly insulting to the audience, I would never admit that. I’d take that to my grave. That’s just embarrassing. Looking at some equivalency charts, that’s like an 18 on the ACT. I would be re-taking that shit immediately. It really is just idiots and assholes the whole way up the chain.

Oh gosh, i did that a couple years ago. We had some people leave, including my manager. I was a lead engineer. I was also leaving, I was promised a position at a 27% increase in salary. But it is a big, international company and their HR was painfully slow at getting me an offer letter. It ended up being 3 weeks from interview to offer. In that time, I just had to sit through several rounds of meetings with the COO, restructuring our group. I was a pivotal part of this plan. Finally, he had the plan finalized. And I got my letter. Handed in my two weeks the same day. No regrets. Love the new place.

Also, that COO wad not an insignificant factor in people leaving.

Nah. Once you have a good, strong base it turns into a cozy survival game. Make a fort, decorate it with skull lamps and nice furniture. Go out, kill some mutants and dry their limbs for dinner. Plant some blueberries.

The Forest. Man, I had a fantastic time in that game. Solo, and co-op. But after I beat it with a buddy, and we used the end-game artifact to create an excellent trap and base, it basically lost its appeal. The fun is in the struggle.

My parents had one with “points of interest” pre-programmed into it. Tried to go to a casino, ended up at an abandoned barn.
