Demonstrators across the country and the globe will protest against Donald Trump on Saturday at over 3,000 planned events.
Millions are expected to gather across the country and around the world on Saturday for a third round of “No Kings” protests against Donald Trump. Organizers predict that it will be the “single largest non-violent day of action” in American history.
Saturday’s “No Kings” marches, of which there are more than 3,200 planned across all 50 states and several continents, come as Trump faces increasing scrutiny over the war with Iran, the rising cost of gas and how his administration has executed its mass deportation agenda.
“Since the last No Kings [protests], we’re seeing higher gas prices and groceries, all while there’s an illegal war in Iran,” Sarah Parker, a national coordinator for the group 50501, told reporters Thursday on a national press call previewing Saturday’s events.

The largest pressure release value in US history. People don’t realize their anger and frustration is being neutered by the system they oppose.
Exactly. Some marches that are months apart, on a Saturday, when Trump is golfing, aren’t going to do much. They didn’t organize anything when the pot was boiling after Minneapolis. The partner list of the organizers doesn’t list a single serious socialist organization. It seems like any revolutionary energy has been channeled into liberal nonviolence and a new round of electoral disappointment.
I’m curious what the final participant numbers will be, because the organizers have cited the 3.5% rule as some magic threshold that will change the fact that fascism is already here. I’m sure that once that number is crossed, they will find some other excuse for why nonviolence didn’t work.
They will keep claiming that we’re almost there. If they only wear more frog outfits and do more line dances, that’ll force Trump out.
Maybe the frog to dino outfit ratio was wrong?
as someone who doesn’t agree with you, it is an interesting metaphor. Non-violence is what many people believe. Turning anger into non-violent action is what you are witnessing.
Please take the time to read Peter Genderloos “The Failure of Nonviolence From the Arab Spring to Occupy”.
Just finished reading Gelderloos’ “How nonviolence protects the state”. Great read.
Not a single right we have has ever been achieved with non violence. Nothing has ever been granted by pleading with the state.
The problem is everyone thinks violence is things like broken glass. Violence from the state comes in many forms, poverty, homelessness, hunger, economic, physical, and psychological.
The only forms we can exercise is economic and broken glass.
It’s more like channeling pressure towards a common purpose. You can’t just hold in all the pressure all the time. If you blow a gasket then you won’t hold any pressure. This is a good thing, for many reasons, which others have already mentioned and I won’t reiterate.
If you have any other ideas that aren’t completely unrealistic and counter-productive, feel free to share.
