I had a co worker today say trump was the lesser evil between him and Kamala. Then proceeded to say he was better than Biden, Obama, and Bush. I’ve lost all respect for him.
Another one said there’s no reason to worry about politics because you can’t fix them. They also vote republican, 100% only because they supported the second amendment.
There’s nothing you can say to change their mind. We’re just fucked as a country because our average IQ seems to be in the single digits.
I’m a steam and gog fan.
I use steam for the ability to plug in any controller I want and instantly be able to use it.
I can download controller maps from the community on the fly.
I can stream straight to my TV and play in any room with a TV in it with zero effort.
I can join my friends games with two clicks.
Remote play allows you to play games you don’t even own with your friends.
Works on linux.
Integrated workshop. Easy modding.
I use gog for older games not on steam. Works on linux. (Heroic at least)
I could go on with steam, but those are the key points stands alone games don’t offer.
This is one of the main reasons people don’t vote blue. They care a lot about their firearms. If the red start going after them, grab some popcorn because things will go down. Maybe this is whats needed to get them to open their eyes.

I’m about a year in. I started with mint and I’m on endeavor now. It can be a bit fiddly to get setup. Once setup it behaves the same way, but less ads and copilot/edge aren’t forced on you non stop.
The only issue we have is anticheat, and that only affects games like battlefield/cod. So not much of a loss there.

It used to be this way and was one of my biggest complaints. It’s no longer this way. Drivers for my Nvidia card works fine on my mint and arch setup.
