  • The last drive of mine running windows is currently an offline setup right now because I ain’t updating it to windows 11 and ain’t connecting to the internet while not getting security updates.

I could do it on that windows 10 drive when I allowed the OS an internet connection, but now I’m dealing with the consequences of not suggesting that my dad switch from windows 10 to MX Linux on his laptop.

Though, I will agree windows would work just fine.

  • The last time I was seeding, on my desktop, my system was set up not to go into sleep mode and also didn’t have problems where my monitor wouldn’t just stop displaying the screen.

Now, under Linux Mint, under Wayland for my preferred client, I have to constantly be there to ensure the display doesn’t decide to stop displaying since Wayland is still experimental in Cinnamon under LM Zena.

Otherwise I would go back to doing it.

  • The 2000s Cartoon Network US site and Nitrome ( still alive but feels like a shell of its former glory ).

I know I can still play a lot of the old CN flash games on Flash Point, but it’s not as aesthetically satisfying as the old CN site.

As for Nitrome, I got a zip file that contained a lot of the games since they ain’t available on Flash Point and I don’t wanna use the modern site. The old games like Mutiny or IceBreakers are still kinda fun, even if games like Rubble Trouble, for some reason, don’t run well on my potato desktop under Ruffle.

Those were 2 of my favorite game sites in the 2000s, before I learned about NotDoppler.

    Edit:

After looking at various comments, gonna say I remember the old Pencilmation series back when there was maybe a few different shorts on their website. Back when evil blue pen man was the big bad. Before they, or whatever copycat it was, started making tons of them on yt that are nothing but mass produced slop. Lived long enough to become a villain.

I also remembered an old PopTarts website with some dumb flash game about going down the red carpet without getting toasted and/or eaten ( IIRC ) that lead to me finding Pencilmation.

  • The way I see it, genAI only enhances the value of things actually drawn/painted/created by humans. In a world where everyone can generate dogshit toxic waste, a real artist, like my favorite Panda Paco, can create high value art that has infinitely more value just by painting or sketching it without the need for any genAI slop. Same for his digital art.

I am also of the genAI adds negative value to everything it touches camp, if you couldn’t tell.

Though, speaking of genAI, I had a thought hours ago that I can almost guarantee most genAI bros in maybe a year or two will be so genAI pilled, so used to not thinking at all, that they’ll start saying that anybody who thinks for themselves is ableist. Kinda like how they currently love to claim disabled people need genAI.

  • I thought about it, and the small paranoid part of me convinced me not to dox myself. I can at least describe some of it.

The discs are all intact but are in stacks, probably glued in the center rims to one of those long, thin, cylindrical metal bars with the spiral. Going from bottom middle of the piece to the top.

The bear, although it’s very hard to tell, has the metal bar thing going through the top and bottom of it.

They’re both creative enough uses for the project, which seems to have been taking unused things and recycling them into the project, but doesn’t mean I have to like it. Especially as someone who loves both discs and stuffed animals.

  • The troop I was in was like that as well, minus the uniforms. Almost always had to have on either a uniform or troop shirt at outings so we could be identified in case something went wrong. Closest we had to church related stuff was how our troop was grateful enough to be able to hold meetings in a nearby church, a quick mention of it in Eagle Scout court of honor ceremony, and the occasional camp out “there’s service happening for anybody who wants to attend” type of thing.

As for funding, we definitely had the usual fall popcorn sales and then we usually did a bake sale early Spring for funding. Hated the bake sale because it was always at a small rest stop shop that was almost always cold. No external support outside of whoever popcorn sales were done through.

  • IDK how controversial this one is, but I’d say Batman Beyond is a near perfect “I am the new Batman” type sequel series. Rather than having a series where it’s all future versions of the villains facing off against future Batman, they either made new villains or reinvented one you never really saw anywhere besides a few old comics.

From what I’ve seen/heard of the non tie-in comics, they aren’t as good, IMO, for the introduction of characters such as a future Catwoman and a few minor changes to some original characters, like turning that one Joker gang member into some sort of hybrid Joker and Two Face.

Very similar reasons as to why I think Loonatics s1 is vastly superior to season 2. Hand me original villains for a series over rehashed versions of old villains.

  • Occasionally I will use a blank CD or DVD to burn something like a game I obtained through less than ideal means. Otherwise, I tend to use them less than I should. But that would require me to find more uses for them.

I got a whole stack of blank DVDs a couple years ago because the student government at the college I attend was just getting rid of them. Probably was gonna throw them away if nobody picked them up, so I did. Also got some clear, see through sleeves as well.

    Edit:

This post also made me remember that an art student used a bunch of discs and a teddy bear in a 3D art piece that gets a negative reaction from me. Every time I pass by it in the library, I hate it, but admit it’s great art considering it gets such a strong emotion out of me.

  • Have no clue where the “FuzzLord” part comes from. Don’t remember, but I assume the Lord part comes from my high self worth ( probably a little too high self worth ).

Though I can easily tell you where the “Ace” comes from. Used to use it every time a game needed a 3 letter initial or whatever for high scores or just in general. It also works out real well now because of my fascination with safe gambling and randomness.

  • If I had the money, I would at the very least try Kagi, but for now I’m just surfing with DuckDuckGo using their “noai(dot)duckduckgo(dot)com” link. Auto turns off their dumb “duck ai” nonsense and using their filters to try and hide genAI images.

I also looked it up because I was curious and if the source is correct, I learned that the “noai” part of that link is a subdomain.
